Kairos is held as a separate function at each of two out-camps, Camp D and Camp C as well as in the Main Prison. Each location has their own Prayer & Share groups which meet weekly.
 
Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women (St. Gabriel, LA)
Kairos is held within the LCIW facility in close cooperation with the Chaplain. There are regularly scheduled retreats and supportive visits by the Kairos Community.

"The purpose of Kairos Outside is to demonstrate God's grace and love through Christian support for women who have loved ones who are or who have been incarcerated....It is important for them to know that they are not alone and that there is a Christian community that cares."

Some of the ways support can be given are:

  • Agree to pray on one of the weekend days--anytime of the day;
  • Secure a logo of the weekend to be colored and returned for use in "papering" the walls with the love of the community;
  • Monetary donations are always a blessing. Monetary donations can be sent to Kairos Outside, P.O. Box 29587, Shreveport, LA 71149.
