Why do you need my gifts?

Depending on the institution, each Kairos team is responsible for raising up to $12,000.00 per event! Considering that most institutions are blessed with multiple events per year, the amount of money and resources that must be raised is truly staggering.

Even so, God has a way of providing. In addition to the thousands of dozens of home-baked cookies that are needed for each event, it is necessary to provide supplies for the team and residents to use. Many institutions allow the teams to provide all of the meals for the residents and the teams. Which means that an enormous amount of food must be purchased, cooked and delivered inside.

Logistics often dictate that the team must stay in a hotel, sometimes many, many miles away from the institution. The rooms cost, and the logistics of distance and time often require trailers to be rented for hauling food and supplies back & forth.

Then there are the on-going costs of storage for the permanent cooking and other supplies. Most institution councils have a storage facility which adds to the monthly and annual costs. As you can see, the need is significant.

WHY GIVE? Simply because according to the institution officials, the Kairos Prison Ministry is the single-most effective ministry out there! The consistent results generated by Kairos are absolutely unmatched by ANY other program. Recidivism, the rate of return to prison by ex-offenders, is significantly affected and radically reduced when prisoners participate in the Kairos and follow-up programs. More so than any other program. Period.
